Practice
Ms. Genser’s clinical practice is conveniently located in Bethesda, Maryland. Her office is directly across the street from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and 3 blocks from the Bethesda Metro Station. She provides individual, group and family therapy to adolescents and adults and specializes in the following presenting issues:

  • Eating disorders and body image issues
  • Work/career challenges
  • Academic difficulties
  • Relationship issues
  • Parenting issues
  • Grief and loss
Ms. Genser has had significant experience seeing people of all ages. In addition, she has a particular expertise working with teenagers and helping them navigate the social and emotional challenges of adolescence, the pressures of high school and the transition to college. Beyond her clinical work, Ms. Genser provides trainings and workshops to parents and teens on adolescent social culture.

Ms. Genser's therapeutic approach depends on the needs of the individual with whom she is working. While some people may be interested in more exploratory, long-term work, others benefit from a more structured and time-limited approach. Much of Ms. Genser’s clinical work incorporates elements of pyschodynamic, psychodramatic, humanistic, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
